Coming to Toastmasters was one of the changes I decided to make when I started my PhD journey this year. During these five months, I have been trying to figure out what this experience means to me. I find the most important thing I get from Toastmasters is discovering my relationship with public speaking. I really enjoy the authentic connections that I feel with other members every time when I speak on this small stage or when I hear about their stories. You are welcome to join our Speakeasy Toastmasters Club! I’m sure you will enjoy this warm and supportive environment and find your own meanings in public speaking

I used to be extremely shy and I would get so nervous at the thought of having to give a presentation. After a couple of years in Toastmasters, I now have the confidence to partake in group discussions and I have even recently taken on the role of club president to help strengthen my leadership skills. Having weekly practice at speaking in front of an audience has helped me become far more comfortable with public speaking and has also educated me on how to communicate effectively.
